Why Soy Wax?
We choose to work with soy wax for a variety of reasons. We love that it's an 100% renewable resource and carbon neutral. It burns more cleanly - and better yet - for a longer period of time than paraffin. Soy candles are better for the environment and your health: they are non-toxic and burn cleaner than paraffin wax. Soy wax produces as much as 90% less soot than paraffin wax. This soot can blacken walls, ceilings, and furniture, contaminate ventilation ductwork in your home, and most importantly, add toxic carcinogens into the air that you breathe.
Are your fragrances phthalate free?
All our fragrances are phthalate free. Phthalates are used to dissolve raw materials in apothecary goods, medicine, and fragrances. Recently there has been concern linking high levels of phthalates to health issues. While there are currently no regulations against phthalate use in candles, we decided not to work with fragrances with phthalates in them. The levels of phthalates typically found in a candle are not harmful to a consumer or manufacturer, but we decided to keep things simple and go without them.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Please allow 3-5 days for order processing. Once your order is processed, it should arrive within 3-7. We will be sure to contact you if there is any delay.
How can I track my order?
You will receive an email with tracking information once your order has shipped. If for some reason you did not receive this information, please send us an email at info@theyelocandleco.com.
What is Local Pick-up?
Order pickup is located in Rockville, Maryland. You will receive an email once your order is ready, and for you to schedule a pick-up time. All orders must be picked up, within 3 days of you being notified that your order is ready. Unclaimed items will be re-shelved and refund will not be issued.
Can I send a candle as a gift?
Absolutely! If you would like a hand-written gift note, or if it's going directly to the giftee, just make a note at checkout and we will be sure not include a sales receipt.

Of Course! We offer ‘proposal’ gift boxes for you and your crew. Our gift boxes come with an 8 oz candle, 1 wax melts and 1 mini candle. If you need a custom label, just send us an email and we are happy to accommodate you! Returns & Exchanges?
There are no refunds, exchanges or order cancellations. If your candle arrives damage please immediately contact us. Our wax bars sometimes break during shipping, if you bar arrives severely damaged please immediately contact us.
